Crystal Therapy – A Myth or Reality?

Crystal Therapy - A Myth or Reality?

Many people believe spiritual awakening is a myth, about three-fourths of the American population, to be a little more precise. But crystal therapy is a level ahead of spiritual awakening; some people who do believe in spiritual awakening believe that crystal therapy is a myth. This means that only a small population of Americans believe in crystal therapy and the power it entails.

Crystal Therapy – What Is It After All?

But what exactly is crystal therapy? Most people who don’t believe in it do not know what it exactly means to the fullest extent. All they mostly know is that it is some sort of spiritual therapy that involves crystals, which is a kind of injustice to the practice.

But I am not here to demean or mock you for your disbelief; I am here to tell you what it is and whether it is a myth (or not). So in simple words, it is a type of spiritual therapy in which practitioners use various types of crystals and place them on or around a person to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. The belief is that crystals possess unique energetic properties that can interact with the body’s energy field to restore balance and well-being.

It Sounds Like a Myth – Is It Really?

After reading the definition, it does sound like a myth, but is it really? Well, science says it is, but this technique has been in practice for at least 6,000 years, so there must be a certain truth to it. Although the methods have slightly changed over the course of time, it has proved to be a highly effective form of therapy.

How Crystal Therapy Works – What Its Practice Entails

Although the precise mechanism is debatable, crystal therapy revolves around one crucial aspect. Its core principle lies in the interaction between the crystals’ energy and the human energy system, also known as chakras. These chakras are the seven main energy centers in the body that influence our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Crystal therapy revolves exactly around them. It aims to balance and harmonize these chakras by placing specific crystals on or around the body, allowing their unique vibrations to interact with the energy flow within these centers.

The Concept of Chakras Explained

As mentioned earlier, chakras are the seven main energy centers in the body that influence our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. These chakras are listed as follows:

  • Crown Chakra “Sahasrara”: Focus on its connection to higher consciousness, spirituality, and universal awareness.
  • Third-Eye Chakra “Ajna”: Emphasize intuition, insight, inner wisdom, and psychic abilities.
  • Throat Chakra “Vishuddha”: Highlight communication, self-expression, truth, and authentic voice.
  • Heart Chakra “Anahata”: Focus on love, compassion, empathy, and connection in relationships.
  • Solar Plexus “Manipura”: Emphasize personal power, self-esteem, confidence, and willpower.
  • Sacral Chakra “Svadhishthana”: Highlight creativity, sensuality, emotions, and pleasure.
  • Root Chakra “Muladhara”: Focus on grounding, security, survival instincts, and connection to the earth.

How crystal therapy exactly works is that the practitioners place a specific stone on the specific chakra in an attempt to balance and harmonize the energy within those specific centers.

The Concept of Stones in Crystal Therapy Explained

However, saying that crystal therapy works by practitioners placing stones aligned with the specific chakra can be a bit too simple. Practicing crystal therapy is an art, and all sorts of art need to be handled with care. You have to place a specific stone on a specific chakra of your body with perfect alignment, or else it won’t work.

Here is a list of what stones to use on each chakra:

  • Crown Chakra “Sahasrara”: Amethyst, Clear Quartz, Selenite, Lepidolite, White Topaz.
  • Third-Eye Chakra “Ajna”: Lapis Lazuli, Amethyst, Sodalite, Labradorite, Iolite.
  • Throat Chakra “Vishuddha”: Lapis Lazuli, Turquoise, Aquamarine, Blue Lace Agate, Sodalite.
  • Heart Chakra “Anahata”: Rose Quartz, Green Aventurine, Emerald, Malachite, Rhodonite.
  • Solar Plexus “Manipura”: Citrine, Yellow Jasper, Tiger’s Eye, Amber, Yellow Aventurine.
  • Sacral Chakra “Svadhishthana”: Carnelian, Orange Calcite, Sunstone, Peach Aventurine, Tangerine Quartz.
  • Root Chakra “Muladhara”: Red Jasper, Black Obsidian, Hematite, Smoky Quartz, Garnet.

There’s more to it. You can’t just randomly pick the stone and align it with the chakra; you have to pick the stone according to the energy imbalance of the area. Crystal therapy is an art in every aspect and needs to be dealt with accordingly.
